The interior and exterior of the Rainbow House is really shaping up!  The painters are next for the interior, and the ipe wood for the lanais are being laid down on the exterior.

Progress is moving forward on the lanais and the soffitts are being painted.

The carpenters are hard at work finishing the posts and railings on the lanais, as well as finishing the beams for the cedar vaulted ceilings.

The roof is almost completed! The color looks green in one direction and copper in an another direction. Very handsome! Still to be added are the copper gutters.

Exciting to see the standing seam metal roofing being applied. The house is getting dressed up for the upcoming "Roof topping off party" which will be held on Oct 2nd!

Reminiscent of Napa Valley, this is the view looking back at the Rainbow House from our Lot #23.

The garage doors were installed this week. They will be painted to coordinate with the house. You can see also the board and batten detailing on the exterior walls.



The pool and spa are taking shape. The spa has a waterfall feature, and the pool has an infinity edge! You can already see the view from both.

The Rainbow House gets ready for its metal roofing. This is a "peel and stick" sub-surface. You can really see the roof and the house taking shape. That's Moloka`i in the background!

Taking shape very quickly now! Carpenters, electricians, pool contractors, window installers - all working together are making the paper plan into a reality.

The progress in the last two weeks is such that you can now picture yourself sitting pool-side enjoying the expansive view, or enjoying the sunset from the west-facing lanais!

Lots of progress this week - and it is only Tuesday! The trusses are going up and they are digging out the pool and spa location. It is really taking shape.

Framing is giving shape to the house! The mauka (mountain view) (bottom photos) is looking north over Lot #51 and the coffee fields. The middle photo (makai/ocean view) is looking west, and the top photo is looking through the master bedroom to the ocean.

First off we laid out the orientation of the Rainbow House to maximize the awesome views!

January 8, 2008-Groundbreaking & Blessing

Pictured from left to right are Ken Jenks, Ted Taylor, Chad Fukunaga and Charles Kaupu at the ground breaking and blessing for Lot #1. The team of CC&D Builders, Maxwell Design Group and Kaanapali Land Managment Corp. begin construction on the first home at Kaanapali Coffee Farms designed by IMMA-Architecture and Design. Charles Kaupu gave the blessing on this auspicious day.
